Our May Day starts with delicious Southern Chinese breakfast in the sun: fried Wonton, porridge, and various pickled vegetables. Yumm! |
| 11am, Gui and Matthew came and picked us up. We went north to the wine country. First stop: Clin winery in Sonoma. In the tasting room, these cute ceramic cows on the windowsill caught Jean's attention. |

|
|
| Second stop: Jack London State Park. Jack London's cottage was turned into a museum. It was a lovely mansion with many many cozy window boxes! How lucky a man he is, to be able to live in such a beautiful house surrounded by nature and beauty... |

| We then went on a hike in this 800 acre estate. Despite getting lost in search of a vista point, where we were supposed to have a view of "Valley of the Moon", we ran into numerous lovely hiking trails admist redwood forests, eucalyptus forests, oak forests, and the wineries were constantly snaking in and out our view. The mid-point was this swamp-like man-made lake, where hundreds of dragon flies zommed in and out of sun and shade. |

| After the hike, we made a couple of more stops for olive-oil tasting as well as wine tasting. "Valley of the Moon" winery had some beautiful flower display and colorful decorations, their wines were rather ordinary though. The whites were especially harsh. :( In Sonoma town square, we found a nice little courtyard to rest and cool off. |
