绝妙创意:楼梯图书馆

哪个爱书人会不爱这个楼梯? 有朝一日…有朝一日…

伦敦一座维多利亚式小楼,顶楼的主人要重新装修,设计人员把顶楼和阁楼打通,加了一个复式卧室,因为主人一直渴望有一个图书馆,设计人员就把新加上的通往阁楼的楼梯变成了一个大书架,走两步,看本书.楼梯顶上加了天窗,正好看书.多么幸福….

    Nice! Alas, not feasible for an apartment in Shanghai; for how do you clean the stairs without getting the books damp? This only works in places that are so clean that one hardly needs to sweep the floor.

    But a very, very nice concept, nevertheless. I’ll have to think about a way to incorporate it into our next house/apartment: maybe we can make cleaning less damaging to the books by adding a ledger between books and the rest of the step area?

    have a plastic layer between the book and the stair? like a plastic box?
    Note that if you are really going to do this, there are some special structural change required for your stair to handle all that heavy load from books on the stair itself. The original post mentioned some mechanic trick they had to play to “transfer” the load from the stair to the main supporting beam of the house.
    Either way, would love to know how you actually do it. :)

    一条小小意见：you know what a stickler for “correct Chinese” I am; therefore it pains me every time when I see your header,“这世界到处是门，你是门外捡遗矢的人/在黑暗中拾取一线光，无尽的路途上又尽情地抛弃/-夏云”.

    First of all, I am not sure it’s such great poetry; but one can’t argue about taste, and reasonable people can disagree on quality of their favorite verse. However, there is the gross mis-use of a verb in “你是门外捡遗矢的人”, indicating a poor understanding of the mother tongue. For “遗矢” is an act, not a noun; and “遗” here is definitely a verb. As in 《史记-廉颇蔺相如列传》：“然与臣坐，顷之三遗矢矣”。Or, in Mao’s “poetry”: “千村薜荔人遗矢，万户萧疏鬼唱歌。”

    In short, “遗矢” means “shitting”, not “shit left there by others”.

    See how academic I can be when it comes to defecation? Call it “Fecal Attraction”.

    其实是小孩子时喜欢的东西,倒也该换了.暂时换一个很大众化的.你要还是看着不顺眼就先忍忍吧.
    中国文字我喜欢它的柔韧性.动词名词谁分得那么清楚? 我倒是觉得这是个长处. :)

    第一眼看见，很喜欢。
    但细想一下，马上就打消了念头：
    不好拿书。
    对我这个书就是用来看的，
    不看的书管他多好，都绝不保留的人来说，
    这样的书架当然是不实用了。
    不过我还是好喜欢这个设计：
    有阳光。
    真是好主意啊，让书在阳光的照耀下。

    那个最早的帖子下面一大串留言.都在担心这个楼梯危险,会伤人.而且好像美国东部的州有严格的建筑规范,这个楼梯就不够格. 我们倒是觉得最大的毛病是太容易积累灰尘不好打扫.

    “面朝大海，春暖花开”，海子的优点和缺点，自然和矫情，都是很密切地反映了他的时代的。For instance, the very contemporary Chinese fantasy of living not for the present but in the future; “喂马”的“乡绅幻想”；“劈柴”的中国男性“贴胸毛”姿态……还有“面朝大海”卧轨的“难酬蹈海亦英雄”的决绝。

    海子可能不是很高明的诗人，但肯定是治文学史的人最喜欢研究的时代性“代表诗人”。

    哈哈哈哈哈!笑死.就知道这么cliche的海子肯定会被旧大人轻而易举地狠狠作弄. 还是没有想到会联系到乡绅和胸毛.呵呵.好了好了,没马也不劈柴了.
    本来想了下要不要放庄子的天地有大美而不言,或者苏轼的一点浩然气，千里快哉风?
    还是你推荐几句诗或者好的中国诗人吧?我去学习学习.
